The SETU website will connect students with potential landlords

With student accommodation at a steep price and colleges just weeks away from reopening, a new website will allow Wexford homeowners to connect with those still struggling to find a place to live. South East Technological University (SETU) President, Professor Veronica Campbell, has launched the SETUStudentPad website to help connect SETU Wexford students with landlords with a room to let, landlords with a house or a apartment and people looking for a roommate or roommate.

rof Campbell is well aware that accommodation remains the primary concern of students and their parents. “Once again, demand for student accommodation will be high and SETUStudentPad’s goal is to give our students access to quality accommodation close to where they study,” she said.

SETUStudentPad functions as a search engine for SETU students looking for houses, apartments and digs, but also gives landlords, landlords and people looking for a roommate or roommate a chance to take advantage of the country’s room rental scheme which allows people to rent a room in their accommodation and earn €14,000 a year tax free.

“SETUStudentPad offers landlords or landlords a great opportunity to market their rooms or properties to a ready-made audience,” adds Jacqui O’Connor, Head of Accommodations at SETU. “The Leaving Certificate results are released on Friday September 2nd and I encourage Homeowners and Landlords to register for free and get their ads up on the SETUStudentPad platform as soon as possible.

“The owners have complete control over the rooms they rent out. Many SETU students have different requirements. For example, some students will want to rent a room mid-week only for the duration of their course, international students are only here for one semester, apprentices study in blocks, while others may be looking for a room for the whole term. ‘college year. SETUStudentPad offers great flexibility on how the landlord rents the room”

To advertise on SETUStudentPad, register online and add your property or room for free using www.setustudentpad.ie/landlords. If you prefer not to advertise via the online portal, the SETU Accommodation team can help you on 087 2904612. SETUStudentPad is also suitable for landlords and accommodation providers such as bed and breakfasts and hotels who wish to advertise jobs directly to SETU students.

An information evening will take place at Wexford, SETU Campus on Wednesday 31 August from 4 to 6 p.m.
