Businesses at a popular North Norfolk seaside gem are getting a boost with the launch of a new website.
The Experience Sheringham site aims to promote Sheringham’s restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops and hotels.
Although officially launching this week, the site went live two months ago and already has nearly 100 members.
The website is part of a Sheringham Chamber of Commerce project to increase visitor numbers and awareness of businesses in the tourist hotspot.
Charlotte Norton, business owner in Sheringham, said: “Experience Sheringham is made up of local businesses and traders, who are focused on promoting Sheringham and the region – the new website and its associated marketing will do just that. that.”
Paul Richmond, an online marketer, added: “On average over 12,000 people search online for Sheringham each month, we expect to be in the top search results for this term as we aim to be the Most comprehensive and best maintained online guide to Sheringham.
The Experience Sheringham website will be officially launched at an event at North Norfolk Railway on Thursday 28th July.
As well as promoting businesses in the area, the online hub also hopes to create stronger bonds within the Sheringham community.
Alison Parriss, retail owner in Sheringham, said: “We also aim to work closely with other community projects within the town. Create fun and interactive marketing ideas that the local community and tourists can participate in. »
Sheringham remains a popular tourist destination, with people visiting the seaside town on day trips, as well as for longer stays.
The town’s tourist economy, as well as the North Norfolk region as a whole, has suffered during the pandemic as visitor numbers have plummeted due to Covid restrictions with a report published in 2021 concluding that the pandemic has reduced by half the value of tourism in North Norfolk in 2020.
