REPORTS

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE (important), 2021-12130058, 2100 block of 18e N. Street At approximately 7.55 am on December 13, police were dispatched to report a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, it was determined that between 7:30 p.m. on December 12 and 7:30 a.m. on December 13, an unknown suspect (s) allegedly stole the victim’s vehicle. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on December 14, police received a notice of the stolen vehicle in the Lorcom Lane and N. Edgewood Street area. An officer on patrol in the Wilson Boulevard and N. Rhodes Street area observed the parked vehicle being occupied by four suspects. As the officer approached the vehicle, which showed significant cosmetic damage, the suspects attempted to escape on foot. A brief foot chase ensued and one suspect was detained without incident. Additional officers arriving in the area located the other three suspects on foot in the Langston Boulevard and N. Quinn Street area and detained them without incident. Berket Wube, 18, of Arlington, Va., Was arrested and charged with grand larceny: motor vehicle theft and lack of a driver’s license. The other three minor subjects were handed over to their tutors. The investigation is ongoing.

BURGLARY ATTEMPT, 2021-12140020, block 1400 of Crystal Drive. At approximately 3:40 a.m. on December 14, police were dispatched on the report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that hotel security located known suspects in a hallway who allegedly acted suspiciously as Suspect 1 attempted to force entry into a room and Suspect 2 tampered with a telephone line. Security arrested the suspects and escorted them to the lobby, but they fled before police arrived. It was later determined that Suspect One was a hotel guest, who stayed past the expiration of his stay, caused significant damage to the room, and left behind suspected narcotics, tools for burglary and previously stolen property. The number one suspect was subsequently identified as known to management. Suspect 2 is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5’5 “, 140 lbs, wearing a black hoodie and pants, with scratches on his face. The investigation is ongoing.

PEEPING (late), 2021-12140081, block 700 of rue N. Monroe. At approximately 11:58 a.m. on December 14, police were dispatched on the report of an attempted burglary. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 10:30 a.m., a witness saw the male suspect staring out of the victim’s apartment window. Upon seeing the witness, the suspect fled the area on foot. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 5’8 “-5’10” tall, with a slim build, wearing a red baseball cap and dark jacket. The investigation is ongoing.
